nice start.
here's hoping we can get some action on this thread this year.
okay, here is something from the theory job thread:
I recommend theorists who have a strong second field in American and/or public law apply for the job at University of New England. They interviewed two theorists who did some American Political History last year for the same job before they lost funding for the position. My friend interviewed and really liked the department. But maybe they will lose funding again this year, who knows.
Assistant Professor of Political Science: American Politics The University of New England invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Political Science in the field of American Politics beginning Fall 2010. The ideal candidate should have broad research interests and promise of excellent teaching and scholarship. Candidates should have a strong second field in addition to American politics, preferably Public Law, Comparative Politics or Political Theory. UNE’s Political Science Department values scholars whose work crosses traditional sub-field boundaries, respects methodological pluralism, and employs knowledge of political theory. Responsibilities will include teaching a range of courses in American politics, constitutional law, and legal theory, as well as a course in UNE’s core curriculum, and advising pre-law students. Ph.D. required by time of appointment. Send letter of application, vita, teaching portfolio, one writing sample (a single chapter or article) and at least three letters of recommendation by October 5th to Cindy Locke, Human Resources, University of New England, 11 Hills Beach Road, Biddeford, ME 04005. The College of Arts and Sciences at UNE is located on the southern coast of Maine 20 miles south of the city of Portland. For more information, visit our website (www.une.edu). University of New England is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer.
